It looked like a really purposeful and enjoyable day. It was great of the gallery to host us on a day that they wouldn't normally have been open to the public.
I visited the Rivington Place a few weeks ago, and like Matt I felt the key to the gallery was this idea of interactivity - and this is something that could be vital for our own projects if we are to engage lots of different groups of people. It was interesting to see how technology and multimedia were so central to the experience - how might similar technology enable us to share ideas more effectively?
I can't wait to talk to you and find out more about your responses and how it has helped you shape your ideas for our own event.
What do you think about the Arts Award idea? It reminds me of one of the Tate Manifesto pledges to recognise and reward creative working that already takes place outside of school and outside of conventional subjects areas.
It rally was a very enjoyable day and I think we needed this boost of 'interactive energy'. It's the best time to push our project while we are still fresh with creative ideas. Let's meet up today and get going!
I think it would be a really good idea to keep recording footage of our journey and maybe we could show this on the night in unusual places or whist people arrive to show what hard work and effort the journey of event planning/organizing is.
I really enjoyed the brief time we had together yesterday afternoon generating ideas. I loved the fact that you were all able to think creatively and be ambitious about your plans but also conscious of the need for the activities to be purposeful and meaningful. Now we need to refine our thoughts and begin to construct a brief that will enable us to commission some artists to help us realise our plans.
I really liked that short film and i agree with billy that we should show people the journey of making this event and to show it in an unusual way like in a room of tv's playing the same thing at different times or some thing lol
